​​2009 - 2013 my objectives were:
Finances 

• 1st Term: Get a firm handle on our finances and balance our budget.
• ​​2nd Term: Keep a balanced budget and fund green and gray infrastructure projects (stormwater and sidewalks)

What I delivered: I worked with my colleagues and our leadership team, and we balanced the budget—analyzed our bills, contracts, vendors, and service providers to reduce inefficiencies and reduce expenses, and significantly reducing our costs and balancing the budget while maintaining exceptional services. In addition, I wrote numerous grants and secured over $595,000 in grant monies for projects to benefit our community.

Communication

• 1st Term: Establish a two-way line of communication between the residents and the trustees. 
• 2nd Term: Continue to provide a transparent and open government policy.

What I delivered: Implemented a website with our public records readily accessible, allowing residents to complete action line requests to notify departments of items of concern or make requests. In addition, we have Facebook and Twitter accounts to keep residents informed and established a newsletter mailed to all residents and businesses within the Township, and updated our township-wide phone service so that callers can easily be connected to the appropriate department or be directly connected to a Trustee. 
We also implemented the Emergency Notification System to alert our community in the event of a wide-scale emergency.
Buildings 

• ​1st Term: Evaluate and address unfinished buildings and plan for completion.
• 2nd Term: Implement the build of our Administrative Office Complex and new Public Works/Service Department facilities

​What I delivered: The Fire Station is complete, and the service building was analyzed and secured to protect the structure until funds became available to complete the complex. Additionally, through partnership efforts, During the construction of the Fitch overpass, our service yard was used for the contractors' staging, which allowed the Township to receive additional improvements to that site at no cost to the Township. 
Cooperation 

• ​1st Term: Work hand-in-hand with residents, the trustee board, department heads, county officials, and leaders in the communities that surround Olmsted Township.
• 2nd Term: Continue to strengthen and foster the relationships with residents, department heads, county officials, and leaders in the communities that surround Olmsted Township.

What I delivered: I have worked with residents, listened to concerns, engaged resident groups in public meetings, so they had a forum to discuss their differences and find a resolution. I have worked cooperatively with my board members, our leadership team, and employees. In addition, I have established a working relationship with county officials, county leaders, and the leaders in all the communities surrounding Olmsted Township.
Master Plan and Development 

• ​1st Term: Update the Master Plan and apply for grants and funding to update our Township
• 2nd Term Ensure our master plan and stormwater management plans are followed. Preserve our community and the features that make Olmsted Township unique.  

What I delivered: The Master Plan was updated, the Transportation for Livable Communities Sidewalk Master Plan was completed. I also served on the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District Infrastructure Grants Advisory Committee and developed the Stormwater Master Plan for Olmsted Township.


Economic Development 

• ​1st Term: Reignite the Joint Economic Development District JEDD with Jobs Ohio, Team NEO, and the Greater Cleveland Partnership.  
• 2nd Term: Continue promoting the JEDD with Jobs Ohio, Team NEO, and the Greater Cleveland Partnership

​What I delivered: Restored regular meetings of the JEDD board, Met with all the property owners in the JEDD. In addition, I worked with my fellow trustees to assemble the needed documents to promote our 250 acres known as the Olmsted JEDD, which included securing a wetland delineation, geo boring, and traffic studies of the JEDD site. Finally, I ensured that the overpass work provided a turning lane into the JEDD from Stearns Road as a cost-saving measure.


ADDITIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

• Formulated a committee that committed to 16 months of meetings to establish a Comprehensive Land Use "Master Plan" as well as zoning updates to protect and ensure "smart growth" for our community.
• Established an Olmsted Township Policy and Procedure Manual and Records Retention Policy and Schedule to correct the material weakness' the Township was cited for in the Ohio Auditor's Reports from 2008 and prior years. 
• Instituted weekly staff meetings and regularly scheduled work sessions and established a Safety Committee
•  I only missed 1 Board of Trustee meeting 2010-2015. In addition, public records will demonstrate my commitment to our community as I was present at the boards and commission meetings on which I served.
• Initiated with the United States Postal Service the work required to ensure "Olmsted Township" could be considered an acceptable alternative to the 44138 zip code. Critical to keep tax dollars and state fund distribution to the correct municipality. 
• Successfully negotiated our contracts with Republic County Healthcare, Liability Insurance, and Senior Transportation to lower costs to provide additional savings and keep the township stable financially.
• Established an Olmsted Land Bank to help eliminate blight and re-purpose abandoned properties.
• Fostered a partnership with Cleveland Crops & Cuyahoga County Department of Disabilities Solutions at Work and the Ohio State University Extension campus to bring the Schady Road Farm to our community.   This effort included a surface water improvement project to Olmsted Township where Phase 1 was completed and Phase 2 and 3 to provide a wetland water filtration and pick your fruit area.
• Our leadership team and I partnered with the Olmsted Falls City Schools to obtain Lean Six Sigma Certification, which reinforced what we have been doing the past four years and provided new tools to help us in our continuous improvement and reduction of waste.
